Gameweek 10 Waiver Wire: Claims to Hold Through the Break

Jan Paul van Hecke is the best Gameweek 10 waiver claim if he is still free: nine starts, 53 points and a difficulty 2-1-2 run give his 15-point Gameweek 9 return a real base. António Silva is the more widely available three-week hold, Thierno Barry is the scarce forward priority and Yasin Ayari leads the midfield claims. Wesley Fofana and Taiwo Awoniyi belong on conditional requests, not above established roles after one new start.
This is advice for Premier League draft leagues, where every player has one owner. Roster rate estimates availability across completed private Draft Fantasy leagues; it does not guarantee that a player is free in yours. Check the market in your Draft Fantasy Premier League league before ordering claims.
The board uses Draft Fantasy regular scoring, which matches official FPL scoring. Custom-scoring leagues calculate points from commissioner-defined values, so extra rewards for defensive work or other actions can change the order.

These are editorial ranges from your remaining FAAB, not fixed player prices. Spend near the top only when the addition improves your usual lineup. In rolling or weekly-reset leagues, keep the order but price each player in waiver priority rather than cash.

Four claims are worth carrying through the pause
There are nearly 15 days between the Gameweek 10 and Gameweek 11 deadlines. That makes a three-round role more useful than a one-night stream: a weak claim can occupy a squad place throughout the pause, while a stable starter can solve several lineups without another waiver win.
Van Hecke has completed all 810 league minutes. His 15 provisional Gameweek 9 points included 1.12 expected goal involvements, but the case does not depend on repeating that return. He has 53 points across nine starts and Spurs' next three fixtures carry ratings of two, one and two. A 43.6 per cent roster rate means he is unavailable in many leagues, not that you should leave him unchecked.
Barry receives the only premium forward bid. He has started all nine matches, produced 6.75 expected goal involvements and played 79 minutes in Gameweek 9. The immediate Coventry home fixture is rated one. His next two fixtures are both rated three, so the five-to-nine per cent range pays for a starting forward rather than pretending every matchup is favourable.
Silva is the best availability-plus-schedule combination. He has played every minute, collected 93 defensive contributions and returned eight points in each of the last three rounds. Bournemouth now face ratings of one, one and two. Van Hecke offers more ceiling; Silva is more likely to be free and easier to hold.
Ayari has started eight matches, including 90 minutes in Gameweek 9. His 43 regular-scoring points and 2.27 expected goal involvements make him more than a reaction to the latest ten-point return. Brighton's next three ratings are three, two and two, which is useful without being strong enough to justify an aggressive bid.

Treat the new starters as auditions
Fofana's schedule is attractive, but his role sample is not. He played 90 minutes and scored 11 points in Gameweek 9 after three consecutive league matches without an appearance. The next three ratings are two, two and one. Put him behind the established defenders, keep the bid low and recheck reliable team news before the deadline.
Awoniyi's case is slightly different because forward starts are scarce. He played 71 minutes and scored nine points, his first start in five rounds, after substitute appearances of 30 and 23 minutes in Gamesweeks 7 and 8. A difficulty-one home fixture arrives in Gameweek 11, but one start does not move him above Barry. He is a fallback for managers who can tolerate another bench role.
Roméo Lavia is the score not to chase. His eight Gameweek 9 points came with 23 defensive contributions, but it was also his first start since Gameweek 5 and he has only 0.88 expected goal involvements this season. Custom-scoring leagues that heavily reward defensive actions may value that profile differently. In regular scoring, Ayari is the stronger midfield claim because his role is established.
Before releasing a proven player for any audition, apply the replacement-cost test in the draft-league injury hold-or-drop guide.
Gameweek 9 is promising, not final
The official competition feed still marks Gameweek 9 unfinished and not data checked, even though all ten fixtures are finished provisional. The previous prediction therefore cannot be scored as final.
Provisionally, all five players in the role threshold from the Gameweek 9 waiver guide reached 60 minutes. Hill, Enciso and Bobb combined for 16 regular-scoring points against a ten-point target. Both conditions currently clear, but late corrections can change official points and event status.
That restraint matters this week. Van Hecke, Barry and Ayari combine a Gameweek 9 return with at least eight starts. Fofana, Awoniyi and Lavia do not. The table prices the difference rather than sorting last weekend's points.
Set the queue before Friday
- Search for the established holds first. Van Hecke, Barry, Silva and Ayari have the role evidence to survive the long deadline gap.
- Fix the scarce position. Barry belongs above a similarly rated midfielder when you need a reliable forward start.
- Make the breakout conditional. Fofana and Awoniyi stay below proven starters until another selection is credible.
- Name the outgoing player now. A successful Draft Fantasy claim must leave a valid unique-player squad; do not decide the drop after waivers run.
- Recheck status and the clock. The verified Gameweek 10 deadline is 18:30 UTC on Friday 6 November. A 3 November snapshot is evidence, not deadline-day team news.
Official competition data marked Gameweek 9 current, unfinished and not data checked and Gameweek 10 next when this evidence was captured on 3 November. All ten Gameweek 10 fixtures were unstarted. Starts, minutes, points, expected returns, defensive contributions and availability came from official FPL data and player histories. Roster rates came from Draft Fantasy's fresh epl26 dataset generated at 06:37 UTC. Each displayed rating was joined to the current official fixture by ID and venue using Draft Fantasy's current difficulty model.
